This... (which, hilariously, looks as if it has soaked up all the water in the birdbath)... 
...belongs to him/her. After I took these photos, he/she proceeded to spend some time removing small pieces of the bread, bit by bit; the bulk of it still lies moldering in the birdbath.
How funny. It does look like it sopped up all the gravy, er, I mean, water. That's one happy, and smart!, crow!
