The other day I was walking from the office to the kitchen and I glanced over and saw...this.
Tallulah Mae was just sitting there, in the middle of the floor...Why? Who knows! (But it cracks me up!)

Dogs in Cars: Redux
Hello!
Or not...stoicly waiting for mommy's return (I love how it looks as if the Virgin Mary is levitating right in front of the dog's nose...funny!).
Baroo? (If you don't know what that means, you must go to Cute Overload and find out. It's OK--I'll wait...Good, you're back!
Rusty and Spanky here were also on high alert. Funnily enough, both of these cars were parked in the same spot at Trader Joe's: the two dogs were there when we went in, and Miss Burly McMastiff up top was there when we came out. Dogs!!!! In cars!!!!!!!!!

Garden WTFs, Times Two
Exhibit A: my most productive rosebush with the most fragrant flowers, as seen above...
...now looks like this. Overnight. I wonder why?
Gophers!!!! The little mofos ate all of the roots away. Damn it!
Exhibit B: remember yesterday's post about my nutty artichoke plant? Well, it is still green, still thriving, still producing, but...
...this is what it looks like from the side. It's fallen over (and obviously it can't get up!). Weird...maybe the weight of the artichokes made it fall over (although they didn't cause it to do that last year). Oh well! As long as the gophers don't destroy it...

They're Baaack!
My crazy artichoke plant has done it again! Such a pretty plant, yes? And sooooo delicious. However, stay tuned tomorrow for an update on this plant (and my favorite rose bush, too)...

Renaissance on My Table
Aren't these tulips lovely? They are especially beautiful when they sort of flop open, I think. They remind me of a Renaissance painting. Tallulah Mae is admiring them as well...

Les Fleurs
All from the same plant, a buddleia (which is now about seven feet tall!). Despite its common name, butterfly bush, I haven't ever seen a butterfly anywhere near it...

Tell Us How You REALLY Feel
Please please please NO political discussion here...this post is not about the Obamas at all but rather the utter fabulousness of the portraits themselves, which stopped me in my tracks last week. No matter who these subjects were, you've got to love the wholehearted commitment of the homeowner. I do wonder what the neighbors think, although it would make giving directions easy: "Yeah, you turn left on Pine Street, right at the ginormous Obamas, we're the second house on the left..."

The Easter Bunny Recycles
Hey, what's this? Why, it's my Easter basket! Hmm...I do love me some beer, for sure, but I'm not particularly a fan of Miller...
But look more closely...it's not filled with beer...
Each slot is filled with assorted wonderful goodies, including multiple chocolate bunnies...
...and three of these, my newest collection (to be blogged about more thoroughly at another time). They're children's clothing brushes...way cute, yes? The Easter Bunny was VERY good to me! And very green, too, using that beer carrier...
P.S. The other Easter Bunny, the one who lives in sunny Arizona, was also very kind to me: cute Easter goodies AND two big bags of my bête noire, M&Ms (yummmmmmm).

Introducing: Zoe
Who is this with the sweet pink nose?
Why, it's Miss Zoe! She's actually much cuter than these photos reveal, but she wouldn't stay still for long...she belongs to a sweet neighbor, who rescued this darling girl (she found her on Petfinder). She is exceedingly darling, don't you think?
