Byeeeeeee!

The very last sunset of 2020. It has been a rough year, for sure. While we are extremely fortunate in so very many ways--for one thing, the year did start out with a fabulous, unforgettable trip to England for our 35th wedding anniversary--in addition to the world-stopping pandemic, 2020 brought the death of a parent, a recurrence of cancer, and the unexpected loss of a dear friend just a month ago.

Brighter days ahead, we hope: finally a sane (and non-malevolent and non-idiotic) person will be in the White House; the vaccine will mean that we will at last, we hope, be able to travel and gather together; and we will once more have an operating fountain in the backyard so the birds will be happy and visit once more.

I am so thankful for good friends, family, and most importantly, for the best husband a girl could ever ask for.

Cheers to good health and much happiness to everyone!

Christmas Eve sunset. Um, nice!

Christmas Crafting

This was, obviously, kind of a weird year, so not much Christmas creating/crafting happened. But this did, and I think it's pretty cute!

Tallulah-Palooza Christmas: Merry Christmas 2020

Merry Christmas!

Be a light in the darkness like a brightly shining star.

Tallulah-Palooza Christmas: Farmer Santa?

Tallulah Mae wanted to try out as a "reindeer," but she was disappointed to learn that Santa in fact drives a tractor.

Tallulah-Palooza Christmas: Which List Am I On?

"Hmmm, naughty or nice, naughty or nice? I just don't know which list I'm on!"

Tallulah-Palooza Christmas: Santa's in My Chair

It's the Friday before Christmas, so I thought I would share Tallulah Mae "enjoying" Christmas for the next week. Here she is annoyed that Santa is trying to sit in her chair.

Shine or Rain?

 The view looking west...

The view looking east.
Both taken at the same time. Pretty amazing (it did rain a bit later in the afternoon, so I guess the clouds won!)

(Almost) Christmas Rose

Perfection.

And here it is at first light (with a rainbow behind it).

Random Heart (If You Squint) Edition

It's a tiny heart, but it's a heart (I swear!). And the shape to the left looks a bit like a kangaroo staring at a ghost you turn it upside down...

You Need a Smaller Size, Sir

This is why you always check your sandals before you put them on...I actually wonder if this is the same tiny lizardo who was in the house last week.

Garlandy

I made this garland/bunting from vintage Christmas cards and had it hung in my booth two years ago when I sold at a vintage market. Kinda cute, yes? I've put it in my Etsy shop to see if there is any interest...if yes, I have the supplies to make more. A LOT more!

Again

Clouds, again...the sunset today was not nearly as nice as yesterday, though.

Wow Wow Wow

Absolutely insane sky today...there were these this morning...

(Stupid Blogger is now putting photos in out of order...so useful!). This was after sunset.

On the way to sunset...

Wow!

This was about 1:00. I thought it looked like a "fire sky," but I didn't think there were fires in the county. This is smoke--fires in Mexico.

Super cool but kinda apocalyptic (we don't need any of THAT in 2020--it has been hellish enough!)

Lizardo Breach

This baby lizardo--I mean, he/she is TINY, about the length of my index finger--somehow found its way into our office. After some maneuvering (it ran to the wall but couldn't get under anything, thank god), we caught it and put it back outside. They are so funny: he/she played dead, even when outside, until we touched its tail, and then it scampered off. They are so freaking cute!

Huh?

Hey, now...I live in Southern California, what is this 44 degrees nonsense?!

A Friend Like Ben

Here is Ben doing that adorable thing dogs do with their paws...

And here he is doing his best Blue Steel (Zoolander reference!). I love him!

Random Heart: Thread Edition

A bit of a stretch, but kinda/sorta a heart? I think so!
