Amazingly, I captured these stars with my phone camera. I was really trying to get the brightest star (over there on the left), but when I looked at the photo, there are the others. I think that's Orion on the right (though I'm not positive...). Cool!

This is the last flower on the first amaryllis to bloom (the one that bloomed back in December). This flower is enormous! (Still waiting on the other two bulbs...)

Coffee yesterday at James Coffee, a cute place with a cute logo. And you have to love a big ol' neon sign proclaiming "COFFEE."

This is really large leaf, from a California sycamore (I believe)... it was actually part of our Christmas decor, but now it's time to say goodbye and add it to the compost bin. 
 

Throwing it Back

 

Throwback to last February when we had robins and cedar waxwings in the fountain. Fingers crossed we will get cool visitors again this spring.

A cool (functional) door at the Timken Museum in Balboa Park; the building itself is an anomaly as it is a 1965 midcentury modern design located in the midst of ornately decorated Spanish Colonial structures.

Amazing Amaryllis

 

Wow. This waxed amaryllis bulb is BURSTING with flowers. The stems are quite short, interestingly...Waiting on the other two bulbs to put on a show!
