Tallulah-Palooza Friday
Bird's-eye view (notice the blurry tail--it's wagging!)...she's long and lean! Kiss kiss, darling girl!

Remember Me Thursday
Remember Me Thursday is a worldwide event to raise awareness about the 3.4 million--please let that horrific number sink in--pets who were euthanized last year.
Tallulah Mae came from Helen Woodward Animal Center, so we have a very special place in our heart for rescue dogs. I hope you do too!

Fantastic Foliage
Just glorious: the top two photos are coleus leaves, and the bottom one is a photo of caladium foliage. Mother Nature, she rocks!

Tallulah-Palooza Friday
Behold the wonder of the fuzzy muzzle and shiny dog lip!
Feast your eyes upon the perfect doggy nose and bright eyes!
Check out the...um...hmm...lazy dog? Lounging canine? Tallulah Mae en repose? (We have a partial tail tuck here; sometimes it is tucked all the way in--so cute!)
Smooches, Miss Mae!

Polo, Anyone?
B. and I went to our first polo match on Sunday; everyone (including us) was dressed up as though for a garden party (I'm sure many of us remember the polo scene from Pretty Woman, yes?).
It was lovely: gorgeous horses, gorgeous surroundings. Our first polo match will be our last match, too...while it was interesting enough, it was not interesting enough to do again. Always fun to try something new though!

Prize Winners
The picture below is the reason there was no blog post yesterday...these freakishly hot temps (plus a bizarro thunderstorm) caused a massive brown-out that turned into a blackout. We had no power and so I could not blog. Boo!
If you are wildly grossed out by insects, you may not want to continue--lots of photos of tomato hornworms ahead.
These are HUGE! I'm thinking of entering them into the livestock competition at the county fair.
Hello there!
Not too attractive from this angle, but I think their bodies are amazing and quite beautiful.
These are some small fries also chowing down...not sure what they are...

And this is their handiwork: a totally denuded tomato plant. I had no luck growing tomatoes this year, and this plant has been hanging on but not producing, so I just let them go at it. I figure I've helped the next generation of the Manduca quinquemaculata moth--which these will turn into--thrive. Eat on, dudes!

Sun, Setting
It has been beastly hot here...feels as if we're living on the surface of the sun. But we're here on earth and are lucky to see the sun go down and come up every day. The sunset was so beautiful this evening I ALMOST forgave it for making me sweat all day.

Yarn Bomb, Cute Edition
I love a good yarn bomb, and this very simple/subtle one at our local branch library pleases me no end. It's very clever...and it has remained untouched for about 6 weeks.
On Sunday I participated in a knitting group--we sat and knitted in a bar while enjoying tasty beers--making squares/patches for an upcoming yarn bomb in front of my favorite yarn store, The Grove. Fun!
