Fun Saturday Outing

We had a Fun Saturday Outing on, well, Saturday! We went to La Mesa where we had beer at Bolt Brewing (where that cool red car was); had Mexican food; and then to a bookstore. Fun!

Not the same as a Fun Fall Outing--fingers crossed that we still get to have one (hint, hint, Mr. B.).

Roses Are Pink

These are the roses I cut when I found Mr. Grasshopper (see below).

Peek-a-Boo

When I went to cut this lovely rose, look who was chilling out inside it. I didn't have the heart to dislodge him/her. so I let it be...you can see in photo three where the rose has been snacked upon. Grasshoppers are rather amazing--they are so sculptural!

Windy

It was windy last night and this morning. That is the plastic sheeting covering our carport--and it is rigid plastic (not like a plastic sheet). I think we might need a new one...

Mon cœur se brise

My heart is breaking today for the people of Paris but for all of us as well. Please be nice to each other and hug your family and friends.

This photo is from our trip to Europe in February. I'm so glad I have been able to see and experience the beauty of Paris.

I am a sucker for a nice set of drawers (not underpants, silly!), and this handmade set in a garage at a recent garage sale was wonderful. This person was organized with a capital "O"! Love it!

Hairy Heart

 A rather embarrassing random heart made of Tallulah's dog hair under the dining room table...she does shed like mad.

But she's SO worth it!

Sometimes the dramatic clouds are just too much...almost another random heart cloud up there in the first photo (it actually looked more like one when I first saw it, but by the time I ran inside for my camera, it had changed its shape).

Love this ghost sign...it has been touched up, I think, but it's cool nonetheless!

Do-Over

I'm pretty excited that this beauty rebloomed...they must survive with benign neglect around here. I put them outside after they bloom and water occasionally--and that's it! Survival of the fittest (and loveliest!).

Pretty Patchwork

 I can fully understand why some people are obsessed with quilts. They are amazing little works of art, even when they are in a well-worn condition like these (technically these are not quilts since they are not "quilted"--they are patchwork). The fabrics, the stitching...I love them! I am not keeping them, though, because that way lies madness!

Say Hello to My Little Friend

I made this little felt skelly for B. for Day of the Dead, and Miss Mae, of course, was completely disdainful...although she IS resting her chin on it in the last photo. Silly girl!
