 When you come home and find that your sweet husband, who has trimmed the golden medallion tree out front so that it won't interfere with your car, has placed a cut-off flowering branch in a vase for you... he's the best!

 This darling little rufous hummingbird--see how teeny tiny he/she is?--hung out all day in our pomegranate tree, trying to beat the heat. So sweet!

 A few were of my vintage (1970s), but there were also some from the 1950s and 1960s as well. Loved these so much when I was a kid...

 I never cease to be amazed at passion fruit (Passiflora) blossoms. They are weirdly beautiful and look like they come from another planet.

 This is a matilija poppy, also known as the fried egg plant, for obvious reasons. So pretty!
