Girls
I think these are female hooded orioles, but I'm not totally sure. I'm not sure why there would be two females together...I assumed the gorgeous boy has a mate.
Oops! She fell in but got herself back out.
I love the backyard birds so very much!

The End
Radiation is over! This is the machine to which I was hooked up, via an implant in my breast, twice a day for five days. It was a pretty unpleasant experience on the whole, but I feel incredibly grateful that this treatment was available to me. The radiation oncology team were all extremely kind and good at their jobs...
It is tradition to ring a bell when you complete radiation treatment. Pre-COVID days, your family could come in and sometimes the staff would come out and everyone would applaud the conclusion of your treatment.
I rang it once, all by myself. And that was just fine.

Happy Box/Happy Earth Day
After spending some time browsing online for a new dress of some sort, I finally decided that what would actually make me most happy at this moment in my life and in my (and the world's) current situation was dahlia tubers. And here they are! I can't wait to plant them.
Oh, and Happy Earth Day! Save the bees!

ABCs
My cancer recovery/coronavirus stay-at-home ABC sampler is coming along nicely! It reminds me how much I love doing handwork (embroidery, hand sewing).

Lovely Lily
Normally I am not a huge fan of lilies, but these were so gorgeous (in an arrangement sent to me by a sweet friend)!

Prospective Tenants
These darling house wrens were checking out one of our bird "houses." One of them went inside to see what was what...
They have the most amazing LOUD song for such tiny things.
I hope they don't move in...this is way too close to our bedroom window, which gets opened and closed quite a lot. I would hate for them to make a nest and then abandon it because we disturbed them too much. I was thrilled to see/hear them, though!

Happy Things
Among the things making me happy at the moment: my husband, my roses, Hilary Mantel's The Mirror and the Light, my sweet friends, Trader Joe's dark chocolate peanut butter cups, my husband, the sunny weather...

Borage Forage
I have tons of borage in the cutting garden...it has rather taken over, but I don't mind at all...my bee girls love it!
Love its fuzziness...
And I have a plant that has mostly purple/blue flowers, but one pink one. Nature!

I Am Loved...
...and I am very very grateful.
The sweet little teddy bear was sent to me by my mommy to keep me company as I recover from surgery. She is right by my bedside!
Amazingly sweet friends sent over a whole picnic basket full of delicious wonders to enjoy while recuperating (can't wait to pop the champagne when I'm fully on the mend).
