Excuse Me?!?
Winter sunsets in May! (I could also see Venus in the north sky, and while it's too cloudy to see the supermoon rise, fingers crossed that I will be able to see the eclipse at 4 a.m.!)

Bird-o-Rama Week: Hummingbirds
It's rare indeed to see a hummingbird at our fountain. This little guy hovered and flitted and basically behaved like a hummingbird, thus the blurry photos!
And this beauty sat and preened in the pomegranate tree for a few minutes. We currently have three of these Anna's hummingbirds in the yard, so this may or may not be the bather.

Bird-o-Rama Week: Doves
Anyone who reads this blog--hi!--knows that we love doves. They are super sweet, as evidenced by the next few photos.
And they are also very beautiful if you really look at the patterns, colors, and textures of their feathers. (Cameo appearance by a male purple finch!)
