Mr. Finch, Part II

Check out these  two little avian cuties: in the second photo, they are having a serious face-to-face chat. These are probably house finches, although I think they could MAYBE be purple finches.

I'm such a geek: whenever I hear any bird activity in the backyard, I go running, camera in hand!

Curb Appeal/Curb Unappealing

 This house was a terrible eyesore for years, and unfortunately it's right at the entrance to our neighborhood. But now? It's really lovely!

And this...I generally hate to criticize artwork--I am no artist myself--but this...um...er...hmm...it's bad, right? What IS it?

(And it's painted on a utility box, which in theory is a good idea, but in practice...not so much.)

Late Bloomer

This lovely amaryllis was one that was tucked into my potting shed after blooming several years ago. It didn't do anything last year...I had it outside (potting shed was torn down and rebuilt), and much to my surprise, I noticed a bloom stalk last week. And yesterday: this! Gotta love Mother Nature!

Tallulah-Palooza Friday

Last week we saw Tallulah Mae in her bathrobe...her feet were cold, so she's borrowed B.'s slippers. (Oh, she's so long suffering, my precious girl, isn't she? That face!)

The goldfinches, they steal my heart. So lovely to look at, and their songs, so sweet...

Lounge Lizard

Check out Mr. Ricky Lizardo here lounging on top of our fence. I especially love the little shadow made by his lizard fingers. Cute!
