Accessorized Apis
I know, I know...you're thinking, "Does she NEVER tire of taking photos of bees?" (Well, actually, no, I don't!). I like this one because it almost looks as if Miss Apis has gone wild with the accessories--including a tiny little red crown--and has ignored Coco Chanel, who famously (hi, B.!) advised us to get totally dressed and then remove one accessory before leaving the house. I, for one, would totally leave on my red tiara...

Who Knew?
Prius or Porsche? Cube or Scion? 1958 Chevy Apache pickup or 1970s-era Toyota LandCruiser? Super Bee or GTO? Inquiring minds want to know!

Tallulah-Palooza Friday
Here's Tallulah Mae's audition for the role of "napping contortionist" in Cirque du Soleil's next show, "Chien-nanigans." (Seriously: that is her right rear foot you see there...the left rear leg is stuck out straight and is under her head.) She's got mad skillz!

Box o' Cuteness
Starring Miss Lulu the Bull Terrier. Apparently she got into this box all by herself, with no human intervention...
Excuse me for a moment while I go and gather up the pieces of my head, which has exploded. From the sheer cuteness of it.
Thanks, DD, for letting me share her with the world.

Summers Past, Summer Last
I just came upon these photos from a sweet day spent last August with Miss Robin at Summers Past Farms, where we enjoyed flowers; bunnies (real and not-real); rusty cans and bicycles; and a lovely day spent with a good friend!

Redbud Buds
I love our Western redbud tree (even though after almost 10 years it's still not much taller than I am). These lovely flowers open on leafless grey branches so the color contrast is striking; next, it will develop lovely heart-shaped leaves.

Trailer Park Love (Hey, Maybe HBO Could Make a Series with that Title)
I have a sincere affection for trailer parks...well, maybe it's "mobile home communities" that I'm fond of, perhaps not Bubba and Wanda Jo's trailer park.
Anyway, it always seems as if there are a bunch of sweet little old folks living in them. And they often decorate the front of their homes. Like this. It's marvelous!

The World's Cutest...
...button box! I mean, really! Check it out: deliciously cute colorful wooden beaded handle? Check.
Darling little things (that mushroom...swoon!) on top? Check.
Adorable painting of thread and buttons (and the thread continues on either side)? Check.
Oh yeah! I'm in love. This incredible little cutie--which was, of course, made in Japan; it's so zakka!--was hiding amongst my mom's treasures and she has kindly let me have it. I guarded it with my life as it went through the airport x-ray machine. Button! Box!

I (Really Really) Heart Cafeterias
OMG, y'all, check it OUT: a tray full of yumminess from the cafeteria line. Oh yeah! Yes, that is macaroni and cheese, and yes, those ARE two pieces of pie. Don't judge me (ha!)!
And even though the photo is blurry, behold the blue jello in a fluted bowl (hi, Vivi!). That's what I'm talkin' about!
Hip hip hooray for the good old-fashioned cafeteria!
