In April, we went on a hike with the Nature Conservancy; we're members of the Legacy Society (meaning we are remembering them in our estate plan). This hike was at the Ramona Grasslands Preserve. It's lovely--90 percent of this type of ecosystem has been destroyed or built on, so this is area preserves important native plant and wildlife species. In addition to native grasses, there are areas with Southern California chaparral and live oak trees.
The picture above makes me feel like a pioneer crossing the prairie!
