A Tallulah-Palooza flashback...O.M.G.
As you might remember, I've been sorting and organizing my photos, and I ran across this. I mean, really!

And Again
How is this even possible? Absolutely astonishing...makes me glad to be on this earth! (Corny, perhaps, but true!)

Uh Oh (Also, Wow)
Le wasp nest...there are two of these under our carport overhang. Yuck, on one hand, and on the other, totally awesome construction skills. How DO they do it?
Alas (for them), they will be removed tomorrow. I don't mind creatures passing through my property (except my nemeses, the gophers), but when they take up residence and start building their own little civilizations, they have to go. Remember George Costanza on Seinfeld, when he ran over a pigeon: "We had an agreement!!!" That's how I feel about rodents and bugs: "We had an agreement--you have rights of passage but you can't move in. You've violated the agreement, so bye-bye."

Mr. McTurkeyson
"Well, hello there!"
"How YOU doin'?"
"I and my amazingly weird face and magnificent feathers? I am mighty fine."

Tallulah-Palooza Friday
I just never tire of these photos where it looks as if she has a ginormous head perched on teeny-tiny legs...it just makes me laugh every time. And that FACE...{smooch}.
P.S. Please excuse the paper recycling mess behind her...I present the raw unvarnished truth over here at Foziewisp!

Mmm Mmm Good!
Can I get a "Yum" up in here? This is a chard and asparagus crustless quiche made by Mr. B. And it was delish! (I do KNOW how lucky I am, BTW...in so many ways!)

Tallulah-Palooza Friday
Tallulah Mae is all, "Whaaaaat....? Nay, say I!"
She rejects the mutant tomato, as do I (the whole plant made nothing but mutants, so it's coming out this weekend).

Nature's Bounty
Look at these beauties: fresh figs! How I wish I had a tree that produced these babies...
Pretty on the inside, too!
And check these out: fresh walnuts! These seen here are an Armenian delicacy: they are picked while still green and then preserved in a spice-filled syrup. Somewhat odd, but good.

Passiflora Passion
I never seem to tire of these Passiflora flowers--they look like they are from outer space or beneath the sea. Weird and wonderful.

Let's Hear (It for) Toy Pianos
Time for the annual Toy Piano Festival at the UCSD Library! It's so much fun...
Different performers on different instruments...
This is Ryoko Amadee Goguen, who composes pieces for toy piano.
She's accompanied here by Scott Paulson, the mastermind behind the event (and many other fun events).

Parrrrrrot!
See him or her? I love love love them...there is a small flock that passes by several times a day, always in pairs, always squawking up a storm. This one was all by itself in our back tree, making quite a racket, perhaps saying, "Hey, where IS everybody?"

Tallulah-Palooza Friday
Tallulah Mae wanted a change in hairstyle, so she's sporting a teeny-tiny faux hawk up there--stylin'!

Horses Horses Horses
On weekends during the Del Mar meet, you can go in the early morning and watch the horses exercise while you enjoy breakfast.
This is the coveted "all four legs off the ground" shot.
I heart a grey horse.
Matching.
Lovely.
Green fringed chaps!
Paddock.
Gorgeous!
Much fun was had. While I remain ambivalent about horse racing as a big money sport (treatment of the horses, etc. etc.), I truly love to watch them run. It's a thing of beauty...(they smell good, too!).

Breathe Deep
At the end of the day, when you're greeted with this, it inspires just a deep breath and a sense of gratitude. And awe.

Yum Times Two
Yummy sandwiches at a restaurant called Local Habit (mine is a lentil "sausage" sandwich with radishes) and beer.
And homemade pizza: mushrooms, onions, parmesan cheese. Delicioso! Pizza crust is the easiest thing to make, and this one rolls out into a lovely thin and crispy crust.

SOP: The End
I finally did the closet, even though it was still quite hot here. (Depressing = trying on a favorite vintage dress that won't zip and then getting semi-stuck in it due to sweatiness. Ah yes, good times.)
Vintage stuff is draped over the chair; I'm trying to figure out whether to try to sell it in my Etsy shop or donate; the bags on the floor are being donated to a rummage sale being held by the Helen Woodward Animal Center, where Miss Tallulah Mae--see her in the chair back there?--came from.
The Summer of Productivity has officially come to an end! I'm pleased with the results, but of course, there is much more to do...
