Travelogue Tuesday: Europe 2015: Florence, Capitolo Tre: Churches
Florence (and all of Italy) does churches very well. There are many of them, each different, each lovely. We've already seen the outside of the Duomo: first three photos here are of the interior.
A tiny church that had an organ concert every night (a fundraiser), right around the corner from our hotel.
Orsanmichele (built in 1337...there used to be a kitchen garden here, and then a grain market).
Santa Maria Novella, exterior and interior.
Santa Croce.
These pictures don't even do these spaces justice. They feel sacred, and they are awesome, in the true sense of the word.
