B. and I wonder (about many foods): who was the first person who saw these and thought, "Hmm, wonder what these taste like?" Pomegranates have been domesticated since perhaps the fifth millennium BC, so the first person who tried it was brave a LONG time ago!
No wonder the pomegranate has been a symbol of fertility in art: look at the abundance!
