Sunny Bottles

How cute is this little arrangement of sunflowers in my vintage dairy/creamer bottle collection? Very! (It was B.'s idea, by the way...he's clever, that one!)

Remember these posts?

This year the pomegranate tree made TONS of flowers; some have fallen off, alas, but the others are turning into fruit. Yay!

This beauty was lying on the's a mourning cloak butterfly, Nymphalis antiopa.

Lovely to see these fluttering around, but even in death it's a lovely thing...

When the Swallows...

...come back! (I don't think they've been back for a while, alas.) I met my friend here and we had a fab time roaming around.

There was a really sweet butterfly garden full of one of my favorite flowers that I have a VERY hard time growing: hollyhocks, 7 feet tall!
 Matilija poppies.

 An amazing cactus flower.

A cool 1930s Streamline Moderne building right in the middle of 18th-century adobes.

Lunch! An enchilada salad...weird, but good.
And various scenes from the train ride. Spectacular!
