Soft Focus

Not sure why this rose looks as if it has been shot like a Joan Crawford close-up in a 1940s film; I did not put Vaseline on the lens...

My Little Tree...

...hangs in there. Our poor Western redbud tree is not well, but I love it so and am overjoyed when it flowers and leafs out every year.

These are more than likely the last peonies of the season...a very nice bunch, too!

Rosy

It was not a great year for the roses, for some reason...lots of rain early in the year, which I might have thought would make them happy. These are lovely, though, and they smell heavenly.

The Last (Probably)

I cut the first dahlias in the first week of July and now have cut what are probably the last blooms today. Three months of continuous flowers, pretty fab!

Pink and Purple Fab

I should think there might be one more big harvest (maybe two?) of dahlias this season. And I am very happy about that!

The Garden Report

What's doin' in the garden today, June 12, 2023?

The very first two sweet peas! Hoorah!

And a handful of roses (yes, some of those outer petals have been chewed on--I like to share!)

Wow Wow Wow!

A friend and I were walking this morning and turned a corner to see these--they are utterly amazing!

Pie-o-Nee (Peony) Time!

Pink in Winter

I love these December roses...they are the very last gasp of blooms before the plants get their winter pruning. (It smells heavenly.)
