Wow

I was gifted these fantastic vintage watering can for my birthday from my very dear friend. It's huge, and I love it.

Not the best photo (oops), but you can see it there on the far right with its smaller brethren. So cool! Thank you, Miss W.!

Shiny, Green

New shiny green watering can? Yes, please! Isn't it pretty? (It was a Christmas gift from my honey!)

It's a good design: you can swap out the rose for a new one when this one inevitably becomes rusted/corroded.

Christmas Crafting

This was, obviously, kind of a weird year, so not much Christmas creating/crafting happened. But this did, and I think it's pretty cute!

Teeny Tiny

A teeny-tiny deer atop a teeny-tiny box o' chocolate-covered ginger. Teeny and tiny (and kinda cute, yes?)

Belated Birthday Bouquet Beauty

How lovely to get a surprise delivery of beautiful flowers! (It was a belated birthday bouquet from my BFF.) Thank you, Miss J-Lou! Love you!

Drinking, Knowing

I think my family knows us well!
A great Christmas 2017--thank you all! (And it was nice not just because of presents but because we were all together!)

Finally...

Some Christmas gift making is happening up in here (so late!)...

Kiss Me

Look what Santa brought me: lovely luxurious cosmetics from Besame, whose products are made here in the U.S. and are patterned after vintage cosmetics. They are a special treat!

They're re-created a number of lipstick colors from various decades--this one is from 1946 (a lovely red!). And the powder, in that sweet compact!

(Besame [which is missing an accent] means "kiss me" in Spanish, in case you didn't know...)

Thanks, Santa (you know who you are!) ;)

I Feel Felt

The holiday season is hectic when you have online shops, and this year is no exception...I did finally find time to do a bit of holiday crafting (this is for my cello teacher--and her cat!). Fun!

Gift Wrapping Gifting

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to wrap presents, so I decided to gather up some vintage supplies, put them in a vintage tin, and give it to a friend as a Christmas present. Kinda fun! I hope she likes it!

Hostess Gifts, Red Edition

We have very sweet new(ish) next-door neighbors, and when we went over for a little happy hour get-together last week, I took a tiny poinsettia for the adults and a red felt dog for the baby of the house.

Further Proof...

...that I have the sweetest husband ever. Look what he brought me from Toronto: tons of MAC goodness. Yay! (He's the sweetest even when not bearing gifts, BTW!).

Hey look, it's a self-portrait of my wrinkly hands!

Kyuuto (If I Do Say So Myself!)

These are cute, right? They are little felt stuffed Easter bunny hair clips for my great-niece...so fun to make. The pattern comes from Gingermelon: cute blog, adorable Etsy shop!

Crafting for Christmas

A cat on a tea towel, and a bird toy for a cat! Fun fun (but why do I always wait until the last minute? Hmmm).

Big and Little

I made these for a little girl who is about to be a big sister--she's the bigger one protecting and guiding the little one.

So fun to hand sew animals--I could happily do it all day!

(I'm especially proud of the tails, which I came up with myself!)

Super Dog

I made this for a friend's birthday...her sweet dog, Riley, as a superdog!
He has canine super powers, of course.

Kawaii

Please look at the loveliness I received from the kind Miss D., who carried these all the way back from Japan. Beautiful wrapping, of course, and look at those sweet candies. And the box? It has not one, not three, but FIVE rolls of washi tape!
I have several rolls that I bought in Japan a few years ago, and I hoard it. As I noted in my thank-you to the sweet person who gifted me with these, I'm rather like Gollum in Lord of the Rings: "My preciousssss wasssssshi tape...my preciousssss."

Fun Day

How fun to spend the morning in the kitchen with your honey making gifts together? We made organic applesauce...
Chocolate-dipped ginger...
And dog biscuits (yes, those are in the shape of mustaches, with a Scottie dog thrown in for good measure!).

A lovely and relaxing day--we need to be sure we have those more often in the new year!
