Dunes

How weird is this--it looks like a painting but it's a photo of the sand dunes in Algodones (between San Diego and Yuma, Arizona). Crazy!

Special Effects

Fun with filters...I like number 2 because it looks rather like a vintage postcard from Japan.

These were all taken at the Japanese Friendship Garden here in Balboa Park; those are sakura (cherry blossoms) behind the toro (lantern).

Chee Chee

The Chee Chee Club...how great! Apparently it is a hipster dive bar.

As much as anything, I like the photo: fun with shadows!

Lucky Shots

I can't believe I managed to capture these shots of a hummingbird in flight. Pure luck! It was extra-bright that day, too, so I was basically just pointing my camera in the vague direction of the bird and hoping for the best.

Sometimes you just get lucky!

Are you familiar with PicMonkey yet? It is an absolutely genius photo-editing site that allows you to do all sorts of things (edit, add effects, add themes and digital frames and and and, etc.), but I love it MOST for the ability to make collages of your own photos. Really helpful in terms of Etsy (which gives you 5 photos per listing), but just pretty darn cool, yes?

Oh, and it's SUPER easy to use, too--drag and drop, just the way I like it!
