Quiet Beauty Space

We all want quiet. We all want beauty ... We all need space. Unless we have it, we cannot reach that sense of quiet in which whispers of better things come to us gently.
--Octavia Hill (1838-1912)

Octavia Hill was, among many other things, one of the co-founders of the National Trust in England. She was a fascinating and accomplished person...

Deep in the Heart of Texas: To Austin

On the road from Dallas to Austin...
From Dallas to Waco, it rained so hard it was just like being in a carwash.
No, those aren't donuts--they are onion rings. You only need two of those (well, you don't "need" them at all, but you know what I mean).
Got to love a restaurant called Health Camp that specializes in "super burgers" and ice cream.
 Don't ask me...
Donut tacos? And it's number 3!
 Love old signs...
In Austin, out the hotel window: a rainbow! How cool is that?
And then the sun set on Day One.

Sky Shows

This was the sunset that evening, after a rainy stormy day.
And then this...
At the end of every day I say a little thank-you for being allowed to experience another day--whether or not it was frustating/upsetting or exciting/peaceful. Just...thank you.

Water Colors

Rainbows never cease to fascinate, do they?
Even the ones made by the sprinklers...
