Estate Basket

 

Estate sale in the 'hood this morning...estate sales are a very different experience now that I am no longer shopping for things to sell in my Etsy shops! 

The card in the (small) basket is handmade by a local artist with quilted fabric, and I got three of them, each different. And you can never have enough pairs of cheap gardening gloves...

Please admire this ultra-cool 1960s Frigidaire Custom Imperial Flair oven--even the name is cool! And it was apparently the oven in Samantha's kitchen in Bewitched (see link above). 

(This was in a house that was having an estate sale in my neighborhood, thus the crap piled on the pullout; the house is a gorgeous historically designated 1926 Spanish revival, but obviously the kitchen underwent a modernization in the 1960s.)

So atomic age! 

Love it! 

And right outside that super-mod kitchen are these two adorable built-ins...you could sit at the one at right and talk on the phone! I love love love these--check out the details of the trim, etc. They DO NOT build 'em like they used to!

Cute/Creepy/Sad/Judgy

 These dolls were at an estate sale today. This one is ... sad.

These are kind of cute...kind of...maybe (although the one on the left has weirdly small arms and hands).

These three look a little judgmental, don't they?

Estate Sale Fun

'Twas a good estate sale week: these lovelies (and a few other things) found at a rare Wednesday sale, and then a BUNCH of stuff yesterday on the last day of a sale. Fun!

I Wonder What Happened in the Hallway

 One of the pleasures of estate sales--besides the STUFF--is getting to see inside old houses. I love this figurative wallpaper, which was upstairs in a hallway...

Um...

At first I thought that was a damp/water stain, but when you look at it you can see that there is a splash pattern at the top. I choose to believe it was a large pot of tea that got spilled. Yes, tea, that's what it is...

Gotta Hand It to Me...

{Groan at the title of this post...} I MIGHT have purchased some vintage mannequin hands at an estate sale...perhaps. They came in the bundt pan, by the way. Ya know.
