Tallulah-Palooza Friday

Wondering where her French fries are...

For Sale

This is the Desert Tower, a roadside attraction since the 1920s. It has an amazing view (it is up high overlooking the desert floor) and some ultra-cool rock carvings. It is also currently for sale, for the cool price of $1.25 million.

Hmmm...sort of tempting--quite a lifestyle change!

Dunes

How weird is this--it looks like a painting but it's a photo of the sand dunes in Algodones (between San Diego and Yuma, Arizona). Crazy!

Yerm

Peanut blossom cookies (my niece thought the melted Hershey's kisses looked like the poop emoji, LOL!).

Tallulah-Palooza Friday

Road trip! Tallulah Mae has a new blanket-pad-bed-hammock play fort in the back seat!
 "Hello!"
"Are we there yet?"

Abstract

(This is actually some serious engineering along the side of a bridge being retrofitted...)

Fröhliche Weihnachten

We went to a Christmas service totally in German at St. Luke's Lutheran church (neither one of is the least bit religious, but we do enjoy services at Christmastime). There were high school students reading lessons...some of them have got the hang of the German language MUCH more than others (poor kids).

Festive and fun! Quite a tree they had...

I Wonder What Happened in the Hallway

One of the pleasures of estate sales--besides the STUFF--is getting to see inside old houses. I love this figurative wallpaper, which was upstairs in a hallway...

Um...

At first I thought that was a damp/water stain, but when you look at it you can see that there is a splash pattern at the top. I choose to believe it was a large pot of tea that got spilled. Yes, tea, that's what it is...

Finally...

Some Christmas gift making is happening up in here (so late!)...

Tallulah-Palooza Friday

What? Do I have something on my face?

Umm...Okaayyy...

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE old movies--I will watch any 1930s or 1940s movie (except for Westerns, yuck). And Rosalind Russell is one of my faves. This is from Man-Proof (1938), which also starred Myrna Loy, Franchot Tone, and Walter Pidgeon.

But I have to ask: WHAT is with this wedding outfit?! Seriously...did any normal person EVER wear such a get-up in real life?
She looks like an alien nun! And I'm not the only one who thinks this is totally over the top...this blog post agrees!

Red Velvet

Amazing amaryllis...so velvety and lush. (Ooh, now I want some red velvet cake!)

The Best

Is there much better than bread pudding? Not in my book (or mouth)! This was the happy byproduct of Thanksgiving dressing--both of them made by B., I might add...
Oh, and look--a heart!

Super-Duper

Supermoon! Maybe in January--when there are two more supermoons--we'll drive out to the desert to see it come up over the horizon. It's lovely, no matter what!

Pink Perfection

Perfection! This is a double camellia (and not from my garden).

Then. Now.

 Today.
Yesterday.

What will tomorrow bring, I wonder?

Blue Friday

No Black Friday nonsense for us--we visited the Cabrillo National Monument...

...visited a wonderful bookstore (owned by friends), La Playa Books (San Diego peeps, you really must go!)...
...and had tea at Bread and Cie, all in the company of our friend who came to share Thanksgiving with us.

Perfect!
