World Record?

I feel as if we need to contact Guinness to see if the size of this African basil plant qualifies for a world record...one plant here! (The bees adore it, so that makes me happy...)

Basil, Bee

A bee enjoying the African basil on this first day of spring.

Alas, this fantastic monster of a plant is being trimmed way way back because of impending fence work. I hope the bees forgive me! (And I hope it will return to its former glory...)

New! Improved!

I have a new camera--it's fancy! (It was an anniversary present from my sweet B.) It has a definite learning curve, but this photo was one of the first batch I took today.

Basil Tree

OK, who brought in this basil tree and put it on my kitchen windowsill?!?

(This was purchased a few weeks ago by B. as he needed fresh basil for a dish and it was just cheaper to buy a living plant.) Never did we think it would turn into this! If grown outside this time of year, basil just bolts (makes flowers), so its been very nice to have fresh basis available all the time.
