Cake, Yum

 

This is delicious pistachio cake (at a cafe). Um, yum!

Happy Love Day!

 

Happy Valentine's Day! It also happens to be my wedding anniversary (yay! And 37 years, YAY!).

We kicked off the day this way...

Then we went to pick out a dessert for later. This was an option...

As were all of these (and many more)...

But I ended up choosing this.

While B. had this. 

An indulgence, indeed, but hey! It's our anniversary (and Valentine's Day) up in here!

Nothing like a little apple spice cake with vanilla butter sauce for breakfast! (Thanks, B.!)

"Lunch"

Delicious coconut cream pie (mine) and Bavarian chocolate mousse cake (B.'s). Or, as we called it, "lunch." YUM!

I Heart Cake

This is an easy-to-make cardamom-coffee pound cake, made lighter by using olive oil and plain yogurt (or nonfat sour cream) rather than butter (there is no butter in it). Mine is not very coffee-ish because it called for coffee extract, which I didn't have, but it's delish nonetheless!

What's Up, Doc?

This "more healthy" (less-terrible-for-you?) carrot cake. Quite yum, if a wee bit dry (less oil = more healthy = more dry).
