When your sweet sweet friend sends you a sweet sweet package full of sweet sweet things! I love them! (Fun fact: the cardinal is the state [commonwealth, if we're being technical] bird of Kentucky--and a bunch of other states, I think!)

Birthday Up in Here!

My day started with a kiss from the best husband ever, followed by my mom singing her special birthday song over the phone (no birthday is complete without it!). Yoga, thrift shop, birthday greetings from friends.

Lunch with a sweet friend, macarons (from same sweet friend), a delicious hoppy beer and some guacamole with my honey. Clouds.

Prezzies!

It's my birthday up in here (for a few more hours yet...). Yay!

Scenes from a Lovely Holiday

 The journey: cattle being herded on the road; Tallulah Mae enjoying a Starbucks on the road; giant windmills.

 

 Treats: a fun old-fashioned restaurant in Sun City; a traditional ice cream parfait that my mom has served on Christmas Eve as long as I can remember; porridge and a home-made eggnog latte.

 

 Wreaths: a cotton ball wreath I made in kindergarten; a pretty wreath made from book pages by a sweet friend.

 Presents: another tea towel I made as a gift; very cute handmade gifts made by my very crafty niece (the calendar illustrations are all made from my great-niece's hands...so clever!).

Big and Little

 

 

I made these for a little girl who is about to be a big sister--she's the bigger one protecting and guiding the little one.

So fun to hand sew animals--I could happily do it all day!

(I'm especially proud of the tails, which I came up with myself!)

Behold: my new car! And not only is a new car to me, it's a NEW new car (which I've never had before in my life). This red-hot cutie is a present from my one-and-only red-hot cutie boy (my birthday is coming up soon...).

Nope, I Didn't Make These Either

Look at these cute things I won in a blog giveaway from Nicole at Craftapalooza (is that a fabulous blog name or what?), and they traveled all the way from Australia! Woo-hoo! Lovin' the skwerls on the tissue holder, and the little tape measure is perfect to carry around in my bag--and I know it's mine, 'cause it has an "S" on it! How fun IS it to win stuff?
