December Flowers

A camellia up top, and a lone sweet pea at bottom...I have five pots filled with sweet pea plants, but so far only one blossom.

Hey, wait a minute, that's NOT Santa!
Oh, there he is. Thanks, Santa! I was a very good girl this year...

Merriest of merry Christmases to those of you who celebrate it (and if you don't, happy Wednesday!). I wish all of my bloggy friends peace and love and all good things.

Christmas Week with Tallulah Mae: December 24

Today's task: have your Christmas portrait taken...Check!

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone!

That adorable card up there was made by a very sweet (and talented) woman who works with my husband. Thank you! And Tallulah Mae thanks you for the doggy biscotti to which it was attached!

Tallulah-Palooza Friday

Could there be anything cozier--or cuter!--than a dog sleeping in a sunbeam. I say no!

Happy Place

 Fake tiger...
 Real duck...

My sweet friend treated me to a trip to Disneyland this week (thank you!). Lovely weather, not too crowded, the park was quite festive, and ice cream was consumed.

We got TOTALLY soaked on Splash Mountain. Yes, I know it's called "Splash" Mountain, but this was beyond ridiculous. We had to wring out our clothes, and several people actually laughed at me as I walked off the ride because my hair was plastered to my head.

When you ride the kids' rides in Fantasyland, you really notice just how psychedelic many of them are...it's like, wow, man. Look at the lurid colors in the Winnie the Pooh ride (and Pooh looks a bit demented, actually)--not sure what A.A. Milne might have thought about that!

The lighting of the tree was nice. And that adorable bundle of puppy up there was being trained as a guide dog. So calm and mellow...you can't see it, but he's wearing a button that says "First Visit." Cute!

Crafting for Christmas

A cat on a tea towel, and a bird toy for a cat! Fun fun (but why do I always wait until the last minute? Hmmm).

Why Getting Up Early Has Benefits...

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not an early riser. I wish I were, actually, but my body clock is more night owl.

But if I could see this every morning...maybe...

Latte Art

Last week we went to a quirky event: Thursday Night Throwdown, a "Latte Art" competition between baristas, held at Cafe Virtuoso.

There were brackets--first round of 16 made a heart, second round tulips, third rosettes, fourth (and final) freestyle. You can see the contest in action up there: the baristas put their cups down and the judges pointed at the winner.

It was packed. They were serving cortados (delish). There were bags of unroasted coffee. And some hipster folks. A good time was had by all!
