Nebraska: Pie Yum

 

I had hoped to have several pieces of pie in Nebraska, but we only had it on the very first day. And it was delicious!!! (We split a piece.) Below are all of your choices...happy that they defined "a la mode" for us.

Even if you enjoy hot dogs--I certainly don't--this is NOT appetizing. And what are "wrapped buns?" (This was in a truck stop, BTW.)

Clayton's

 

Somehow it took us having out-of-the-country guest to visit this cool diner on Coronado: Clayton's! Apparently the restaurant has been here since 1938, changing hands (and names) in 1952. Alas, the cool neon sign is gone, but many of the original elements remain, including the excellent horseshoe counter. Love it!

I was remiss in not giving a shout-out to Utz for making these adorable pretzels! I mean...cute!

Breakfast Yum

 

We celebrated the first day of fall yesterday with a delicious bread pudding (made by B.) for breakfast! So delicious!

Betty Beer

 

Beer. Tater Tots. Delightful.

And what beer was I having? Why, a beer called Betty (yummy IPA)...Betty being the name of one of my grandmothers. And this is one of our favorite "beer joints," the Regal Beagle.
