Following the Rules

On federal holidays we eat ice cream--it's the rule! You must obey it...

Such a strange Fourth this year, with no neighborhood parade or fireworks by the shore. We had Tillamook ice cream sandwiches from the grocery since we were not sure what ice cream stores would be open on the holiday/in this weird world in which we currently live. They were yummy (if small, LOL). And maybe a random heart?

Happy Fourth

 The obligatory blurry fireworks...

 Milkshakes!
Gin and tonic made with purple gin.
The neighborhood parade, now in its 20th year, featuring kids on scooters, babies in wagons, and dogs wearing bandanas. It's the best!

Happy Independence Day

Happy 242nd birthday, USA.

I highly recommend that everyone read the ENTIRE text of the Declaration of Independence today and may we all heed its wisdom. And go find and read Thomas Paine, too...

Fourth Forth

Time once again for the neighborhood Fourth of July parade. It has gotten quite large, which is fun (I mean, "large" relatively speaking!).
 Our doggie friend Mika.
 A kindred elder dog spirit.
 Mingling.
 Milling.
 Mixing.
On the move!
Tallulah Mae is a spectator. She enjoyed it more this year, I think, because she is now almost completely deaf: no unpleasant scooter/bicycle/skateboard/wagon sounds!

Fun fun! I love our 'hood.

Salute!

Happy Fourth of July! Tallulah Mae's right ear salutes you!
