Five Senses Friday

Sight
This little ladybug was very busy in my weed basket...up, down, upside-down, acrobatically moving from one leaf to the next. It's nice to have company when you're weeding!

Sound

Me, playing (rather badly, alas) Bach's Suite No. 1 in G-Major on my cello...

Taste
A blurry--but I actually kind of LIKE it blurry--photo of my artichoke, cooked up and ready to be dunked in melted butter. It was tres delicious, too...and there are currently four MORE artichokes on the plant. Yay! Smell
Roses...not mine, yet--I didn't prune them until the first part of February (late), but they're loaded with blooms that haven't yet unfurled. (This is a neighbor's rose...)

Touch
This unbelievably soft and down mound of fur extracted from Miss Tallulah Mae with the Furminator. It's her undercoat, and it feels just ike angora...and it's all over everything, despite my best efforts (sigh). It's OK, she's worth it!

Five Senses Friday

Sight
Ranunculus from my cutting garden...first time I've tried to grow them.
Sound
My beloved goldfinches are back in force this year. I don't really have them in my garden, but they sit in a tall tree just over the fence in my neighbor's yard and give forth with their sweet songs. (That's not a goldfinch above, alas, but I *think* it's some sort of finch.)

Taste
Irish soda bread from St. Patrick's Day--it was a BIG loaf, so we ate it for more than a week (and may I just say, yum!).
Smell
Sweet peas...I really can't get enough of their fragrance. I close my eyes and just inhale...
Touch
I found this gorgeous bee lying on the ground (RIP, Miss Bee) when I was walking the dog...such amazing creatures. They're really quite soft and downy...

Five Senses Friday

Sight
This gloriously wacked-out house . . . let's move in for a close-up, shall we (wow)?
Sound
Tallulah Mae barking in her sleep (awwww).
Taste
This sandwich from Con Pane in Pt. Loma (and yes, I did eat all of it, thank you very much, after I scraped off the sprouts) (yum).
Smell
The ocean (mmmm).
Touch
The spiky edges of this beautiful all-grown-up pinecone (ouch).

Five Senses Friday

I've joined in on Five Senses Friday, along with a group of talented bloggers; this was organized by the amazing blogger at Abby Try Again; if you go to this post, you'll see the list of those who are playing...go check out everyone's different experiences of the five senses (and don't worry, Tallulah Mae fans--it will ALWAYS be Tallulah-Palooza Friday on Foziewisp!).Sight

This could go into several categories, but I'll file under "sight"--check out the big black bee up there; they LOVE this wisteria and you can hear them buzzing as you walk under it.

Sound
Listening to this 75-cent rummage sale purchase: it's fantastically cheesy. Bonus:

Hula instructions on the back! (Warning: this links directly to YouTube and the video starts playing immediately...)
