Pack Up Your (Needles)

When your husband adds to your needlebook collection with one from a business in your hometown! How fabulous is this? The laundry bag shape is marvelous...

Stately

My state glass collection is now all free of dust, a project that was WAY overdue!

Most of these were made by the Gay Fad Studios, which opened in Lancaster, Ohio, in 1945. A woman named Fran Taylor was the founder of the business; she had previously had a cottage industry for seven years, working from home, hand decorating home goods and glassware. Taylor and her staff applied designs to "blank" glassware from Anchor Hocking, Hazel Atlas, and Federal Glass, among other companies. The business closed in 1962.

This is my miscellaneous Kentucky shelf...

...with the most marvelous Country Ham Motel ashtray. (Yes, it was a real thing!)

Kentucky Girl

Rummage sale finds! (The ceramic dish is by Rosemead and is actually QUITE collectible, unbeknownst to me when I purchased it...for 25 cents!)

I am from Kentucky, BTW, so I will be keeping these and adding them to my own collection.

Weird

This odd flower is actually a green ball dianthus (same family as carnations and pinks--you can definitely see the family resemblance in the little red flower). The red flowers are TINY.

The one above is growing in a pot, while the one below was growing on the same plant but broke off; the red flower appeared a few days after I put it in water.

I thought the colors matched nicely with my Ale-8-1 bottle (Kentucky proud, y'all!).
