Nebraska: Pie Yum

 

I had hoped to have several pieces of pie in Nebraska, but we only had it on the very first day. And it was delicious!!! (We split a piece.) Below are all of your choices...happy that they defined "a la mode" for us.

How cute is this? This is bread from Barrio Bread in Tucson...really delicious (and it makes great toast, which makes B. VERY happy!)

...with ice cream from a new place, Handel's (from Ohio, apparently, since 1945). Really yummy! (This is coffee chocolate chip and praline pecan--alas, no chocolate chip, my fave...)

Monday was a national holiday, so of course we had to have ice cream (it's the law...well, our law, anyway). This was delicious spumoni gelato (gelato DOES count as ice cream!).

Yum. (We thought that the pie on the left might be sugar cream pie, an Indiana specialty, but in fact it was custard--absolutely delicious, but not sugar cream.) These are from Croshaw's Pies in St. George, Utah.

Breakfast Yum

 

We celebrated the first day of fall yesterday with a delicious bread pudding (made by B.) for breakfast! So delicious!

Betty Beer

 

Beer. Tater Tots. Delightful.

And what beer was I having? Why, a beer called Betty (yummy IPA)...Betty being the name of one of my grandmothers. And this is one of our favorite "beer joints," the Regal Beagle.
