Tallulah-Palooza Memories: Angel

I am always a bit extra melancholy about the loss of Miss Mae in October, for some reason...so we will celebrate her goofiness this month with some of her most adorable costume attempts. This is from 2008.

Nancy

So cool to see such a large run of Nancy Drews at the thrift shop...

A few were of my vintage (1970s), but there were also some from the 1950s and 1960s as well. Loved these so much when I was a kid...
I mean...Nancy with bagpipes!

I Love L.A.: 2

I have spent many an hour here at the Farmer's Market. Some of my fave places are gone, but many of the original businesses are still there, thank god. It survives, despite the hideousness of The Grove, a fakey shopping mall that was built on its parking lot. Ugh. Love the Farmer's Market--may it live forever! (It's been here since 1934...)

I Love L.A.: 1

Visiting Los Angeles, my home for 15 years, and I'm having ALL of the feels. The light here is like no other place I've lived...the late afternoon/dusk is just so lovely.

Quintessential Beverly Hills street view...love it!

Emergency...

...sometimes you just HAVE to have an ice cream novelty, right? (This did not taste as good as I remember, by the way!).

Hankie Nostalgia

Always happy to find a pile o' vintage hankies at a sale...I love them for their delicate embroidery and fancy edges.

And this lot? It smells sweet and powdery, just like my Grandma York, who always had a hankie in her pocketbook. Ahhh...poignant memories.
