Webby

While I was asked by a faithful reader to not feature any more spider-related content here--hi, D.!--I'm hoping that a spider web will be OK. Look at the size of this thing! And yes, there was a spider associated with it (not pictured here). It's very close to the African basil plant, favorite of the bees, so it definitely had to be knocked down (sorry, spider)...and also? It was right at face/eye level (ewwww).

Random Heart: Post-Rain Edition

(Some of these are a bit of a stretch, I know, but I looked down and thought, "a heart," so here it is.)

Figgy

Is this bread with figs in it, or is it figs with some bread around them? (Delicious, either way...)

Pretty Spider

While our yard is full of spiders--and their webs--I have never seen this spider before. Mr. Google tells me it is most likely a green lynx spider. If they stay low so that we don't walk face first into their webs, spiders are welcome! Up high...not so much. Ugh.

Another Gift

This time a mockingbird feather... all of the birds have been molting but are just about finished. I don't really see mockingbirds in the yard, so this is a special one.

Almost Gone...

The oriole season is coming to a close...this is one of the late fledglings. So happy that we get to enjoy their shenanigans for about 5 months.
