England 2020: Day 6 (Nottingham to Ely to Eye)

We took the train from a very rainy Nottingham to Ely, in Cambridgeshire, where we were met by our very dear English friends, who live in Eye (a village in Suffolk). This is Ely Cathedral. (By the way, in May Ely hosts the Ely Eel Festival, part of which involves an eel throwing contest [now stuffed toy eels, but once real ones]). Ah, England!

 More gargoyles!

 Rather impressive!
Just by chance, we heard the choir rehearsing...ethereal loveliness.
After tea and scones in the tearoom, off to Eye!
