Route 66 Trip Day 4 (Nope, Still Not on 66)

Shakespeare Ghost Town (New Mexico)l; it is privately owned but was not open when we were there...I do love the "People Are Never Allowed to Wander Around Unsupervised" admonition.

 New Mexico sunset.

The "world's largest chile pepper," located at the Big Chile Inn (of course) in Las Cruces.

 Cantinflas?

A most marvelous hot springs in Truth or Consequences...the "tubs" are built out right over the Rio Grande. Heaven!

 Sure, why not?

Hillsboro is a tiny town--more ghosty than not--in the hills between ToC and Hatch.

 Vistas for miles.
 Hatch RV muffler man.
Delicious New Mexican food featuring Hatch chiles.
A fun bunch o' nonsense at Sparky's, a restaurant in Hatch.

 Ummm...

 Really?!?

Oddness near White Sands...there is a missile base nearby.

The sand, it is white! (It is amazing...you think, OK, how good can it be? It is SO GOOD!)
