We had a hand-colored woodblock print appraised by Nicholas Lowry--he of the wild plaid suits--who was exceedingly nice, funny, and charming (our artist's name is "Kunst," so you can imagine...). It's worth about $200 (much more than we paid). Then we took our plastic water pitchers, a whole bin of them...and {crickets}. They'd never seen anything like them, blah blah blah (actually a bit rude, frankly). It was the very end of what I'm sure is a long and exhausting day for them.
Still, it was a fun little adventure. We saw many oversized (crappy) paintings, the guy up there with the harpoon, the blond oddball up there with some sort of violin/sax combo instrument that she kept playing (badly); she also had her t-shirt signed, right on her chest, by Mark Walberg (he had quite a few groupies, actually). Tempting to go into the Feedback Booth, but we passed...

Oh how fun!! I will totally look for you. I'm sure you're the only one who is wearing bright pink.
And, Marky Mark? I just can't see him there...

Sounds like you had a good time. Guess it was worth standing in line!!

How fun! Remember the episode of Will and Grace when Grace and Jack took a teapot to the AR? Never forget that one. I watch AR all the time and I will be on the look out for your "episode". Do wish they would bring back the curtain around the appraisal areas. Some of the folks behind are, well, lets say "distracting". I have my list of things that I would take to AR if given the chance. You'll have to give me pointers.
