Can you see it? The very first sweet pea has bloomed! Yay yay yay. They're really one of my favorite flowers--they're sweetly old-fashioned; easy to grow; have blooms that look as if they've been painted with watercolors; and, oh yes, they smell heavenly. (Also, "sweetest pea" is a favorite term of endearment around here... )
Go, Lathyrus odoratus, go!
